šļø Sun, Sand & Surprises
Last Saturday was perfect! The sky was bright blue and the sun was shining, so I decided to go to the beach with my friends. We packed our bags with the essentials: sun cream, snacks, sunglasses and one giant watermelon. I can't resist watermelon come summertime.
It's my absolute favourite fruit.

š First Stop: The Sea
As soon as we arrived, the beautiful sea air and the smell of saltwater hit us immediately. Some people were already swimming, others were lying on beach towels, clearly burning, though seemingly not caring. I walked towards the water, the waves were loud, but peaceful, like a giant whisper.
My friend Sabina ran into the water yelling, āCome in, itās lovely and warm!ā Seconds later: āNope! Itās freezing!ā She immediately ran straight back out. Classic Sabina.

š Picnic Time
We set up our towels and unpacked our food. Sandwiches, fruit, fizzy drinks and yes, the dramatic slicing of the watermelon began. People nearby stared like it was a performance. We took that as a compliment. Someone brought some speakers, so we had some summer music, to relax and sing along to. It felt like the perfect summer day.

š Time for some games
After eating, we played beach volleyball. Iām not very good, but I had a lot of fun.
However, I spent a lot of the game on the floor in the sand, thanks to badly timed jumps in my attempt to get the ball.
Then came the sandcastle competition. I made a traditional castle with flags and shell windows. Sabina went for a more modern theme and Tommy just dug a giant hole. I'm not sure that anyone really 'won', but Tommy did get pushed into his giant hole. Hayley's idea, not mine! Very funny though!

š Sunset & Chill
As the sun started to drop, the sky turned a stunning orange and red colour. Everyone stopped talking for a moment. It was quiet and kind of magical.
It started to get a bit cold, so we lit a small bonfire and Jack had brought his guitar so we sang some songs and told some ghost stories. It was the perfect evening.
After we took some silly photos, we packed up, and walked home with tired feet and happy hearts.

Whatās your perfect beach day like?
Do you prefer swimming or sunbathing?
What is one essential item you always take to the beach?

Lovely pictures, any of them innthose conditions would be a perfect beach to spend time oncastle . When I visit a beach I always take my camera. My favourite game (from childhood!) is digging a deep hole with a defensive wall around it. When the sea comes in I try to hold it back as long as I can. The sea always wins in the end though!āŗļø
